PROJECT MALAWI CKY’s (Care, Knowledge and You)
Project Malawi CKY’s Orphans mission is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children and communities in Malawi by addressing food insecurity, promoting access to healthcare, and delivering compassionate, community-driven humanitarian support.
Our work is guided by seven core humanitarian principles:
Humanity – Providing care, dignity, and support for all individuals.
Impartiality – Delivering assistance without discrimination.
Neutrality – Remaining fair and non-aligned in political or social conflicts.
Independence – Making decisions free from external or political influence.
Voluntary Service – Serving communities through selfless commitment.
Unity – Working collaboratively as one organization toward shared goals.
Universality – Extending aid to those in need regardless of location or background.
Breast Cancer and HIV Screening Clinic
Past Achievements
During our most recent outreach visit to Malawi in October 2024, PMCKY’s successfully implemented several community-based initiatives:
Provided home-cooked, nutritious meals to over 100 children, addressing immediate food insecurity.
Conducted free eye care screenings clinics for schoolchildren aged 6–12 at Ng’omba Primary School, identifying vision challenges that impact learning.
Delivered breast/cervical cancer screenings and HIV screenings to women in rural communities, with approximately 150 participants per clinic session, increasing access to life-saving preventative care
Community Context
Despite ongoing efforts, many rural communities in Malawi continue to face chronic food shortages, limited access to healthcare, and inadequate preventative medical services. Children are particularly vulnerable to malnutrition, which affects physical growth, school attendance, and long-term development. Women often lack access to basic cancer screening services due to cost, distance, and shortages of medical professionals.
These challenges are compounded by poverty, limited infrastructure, and under-resourced health systems, making community-based interventions essential
Vision Statement
A future where vulnerable children and communities in Malawi live healthy, nourished, and dignified lives.
